Yaya La Parisienne is a French Restaurant located in the heart of Accra, The restaurant was co-founded by a Ghanaian-American and a Franco-Ivorian couple. It is influenced by revolutionary ideas, especially those of the French Revolution, which promoted equality, fraternity, and freedom for all.

Having abolished slavery in 1794 and declared itself a colorblind society, France gained a reputation as a “haven” for downtrodden people in the early years of the revolution.
A large number of people of African descent from the United States moved to France in the 19th century, often to get away from the bigotry they faced at home. But the Republic that arose from this time did not live up to its goals.
Protests that had been building for weeks, influenced by worldwide movements like the civil rights movement in the United States and the war for independence in Sub-Saharan Africa, came to a head in May of 1968. The dynamism, innovation, and vitality of these downtrodden people did not wane at any point during this time.
